The UK Data (Use and Access) Act (DUAA) started going into effect June 19, 2025. Are you ready?
Join seasoned privacy consultant Robert Bateman to discuss how privacy teams should prepare for the new requirements and enforcement under UK DUAA.
The DUAA represents the most significant privacy law change in the UK since the GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The new law institutes new restrictions and enforcement for cookies, digital identity, children’s data, international data transfers, DSARs, and automated decision-making.
Some new DSAR requirements have already gone into effect while enforcement for most requirements will begin over the next six months. Notably, organizations should prepare for increased enforcement on non-compliant data sharing with marketing third-parties from websites and apps and for increased fines; maximum fines available are increasing from £500,000 to £17.5 million or 4% of annual turnover.
